Joe Rogan took Joaquin Buckley on the radar of his questions about Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira when the UFC welterweight appeared on his famous podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience (JRE), two years ago. Buckley graced JRE's hot seat before UFC 281 and faced Rogan's question about how he thought Pereira would do against Adesanya.

The UFC 281 main event marked the first Adesanya vs. Pereira clash in MMA. Today, the entire MMA community is aware of what happened in the fight. But back then, fans were in a lot of anticipation regarding this encounter.

Rogan brought up this topic during the JRE MMA Show No. 132 and questioned Buckley whether Pereira could withstand Adesanya's attacks. Despite being aware of Pereira's capabilities, Buckley placed his money on the then-middleweight champ, Adesanya, and also predicted Pereira to run out of "energy."

"If he [Adesanya] doesn’t apply his emotions into it, like the way he has done with every other fight, I feel like he’s going to do enough to win [the UFC 281 fight]. But I feel like Alex Pereira is not going to be able to apply that pressure on Izzy, just because he won’t have the energy."

Joe Rogan shares UFC referee Marc Goddard's opinions about Alex Pereira

Alex Pereira proved Joaquin Buckley completely wrong during his UFC 281 encounter against Adesanya. The Brazilian earned a TKO victory over 'The Last Stylebender' in the final round.

Rogan has admired Pereira's striking capabilities since his UFC entry. But currently, the entire UFC community hails the power behind his punches, including UFC referee Marc Goddard.

During the ending minutes of the UFC 307 broadcast, Rogan revealed what Goddard said to him about the startling power behind Pereira's strikes after officiating the main event.

"I was in the octagon after the fight, and Marc Goddard came up to me and he said, 'I've been doing this for 20 years. The way he hits people, the sound, is like nothing I've ever heard before.' He said, 'It's ungodly.' That's what he kept saying, he said, 'It's ungodly."
